Sendai Ikuei's affiliated school, I-Lion Hawaii opened in October 2010. Since then Sendai Ikuei students have been attending it for 2 weeks to a month for language (English) training, social studies (local training), and sports activity. Students homestay with local families during their stay.
Two months after the great earthquake in May 2011, twenty-four Foreign Language Course girls were sent to I-Lion for an extended period of two and a half months to heal. The America-Japan Society, Earl Okawa principal of I-Lion Hawaii School, people of Japanese descent, and U.S. system companies came together to make this extended stay possible and affordable for the girls.  The girls were also treated to unique opportunities such as meeting and talking with astronaut, Mr. Koichi Wakata and meeting former Sumo wrestling champion Konishiki during their visit.
